Green Bean Casserole

1 can (10-3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp. soy sauce
3 cups French style green beans (can or
1 can French fried onions
1 dash white pepper


Preheat oven to 350°F. In a 1-quart casserole dish stir in mushroom soup and soy sauce. Add green beans and stir to blend. Bake in oven for 20 minutes. Top with french fried onions and bake for 5 more minutes.

Author's Comments

This is one side dish that we always make for Thanksgiving & Christmas it just would not be the holidays with out having this as a side dish. It was one of the dishes that I hated as a kid but love and remember now!!

I agree with the daughter says Christmas would not be right without this recipe. I also like to add some nuts in the center of the casserole, gives a little extra. This is a super recipe.

I served this at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner, and the most common comments were that it "tasted like home" or "brought a serious sense of nostalgia". It tastes exactly like you'd expect a green bean casserole at Thanksgiving to taste like. Thanks Einar!
