Ingredients
2 tbsp. | vegetable oil | 1 | md. onion, finely chopped | 2 | lg. garlic cloves, minced | 12 oz. | chile sauce | 3/4 cup | beer | 1/4 cup | unsulfured (light) molasses | 3 tbsp. | cider vinegar | 3 tbsp. | bourbon whiskey | 1-1/2 tsp. | Worcestershire sauce | 1/2 tsp. | hot pepper sauce |

Instructions
Heat the oil in a heavy medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and the garlic saute until tender, around 8 minutes, then reduce the heat. Add the chili sauce, molasses, beer, vinegar, whiskey and the Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until it has reduced to 2 cups, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes. Stir in the hot pepper sauce.

This is a true all-American bbq sauce. I use it on ribs, pork chops, chicken and sometimes burgers. We just brush it on during the last 10 minutes of grilling. (Can be made 1 month ahead. Cover & chill.)
