Ingredients
5 lbs. | of beef short ribs | 1 | 14OZ. can beef broth | 1 | 12OZ. bottle of light or | | dark beer | 1 | md. onion, peeled and cut into thin wedges. | 1/4 cup | molasses | 2 | Tablespoons balasamic vinegar | 1 tsp. | dried crushed thyme | 1 tsp. | hot pepper sauce | 1/2 tsp. | salt |

Instructions
Put short ribs into a 5-6 quart slow cooker.
Add broth,beer,onion, molasses,vinegar,thyme,hot pepper sauce and salt.
Cover and cook on low-heat for 11-12 hours. Or on high setting for six hours.
Using a pair of tongs remove the short ribs and cover with foil to keep warm.
Skim the fat from the broth.

I serve the ribs with roasted garlic mashed potatoes or seasoned white rice.
I start this in the morning and give it a stir about three times during the day and just forget about it. Till it's time to make the sides to go with it.
