Combine your chicken, onion, and Italian dressing in a roasting pan or any pan that has a lid for the oven, Put it in on 375°F for until your chicken is almost done (about 3/4 done). While that is cooking peel or scrap your potatoes , then add them to your pan with the chicken and sprinkle the powdered ranch dressing over the top and put lid back on, reinsert the pan in the oven and cook the potatoes until their done.
(I can not give a time causes its different on how big the potatoes are cut.)
Let cool for about 5 to 10 minutes. Pour over some of the liquid on the chicken and then add sour cream or 3 cheese if desired and eat.
