Stir-fried Chicken with Hot Basil (Pad Krapow Gai)

My favorite breakfast when staying in Chiang Mai.



2 servings



1 lb. chopped chicken
3/8 oz. hot (holy) basil leaves
3 hot chilies, chopped
7 oz. string beans, finely chopped
1 tbsp. chopped garlic
2 tbsp. fish sauce
1 tsp. black sweet soy sauce
2 tbsp. cooking oil
1/2 cup water


Add cooking oil to the wok and heat. Add garlic, chilies, fish sauce and water; cook for 1 minute. Add string beans, soy sauce and basil; stir and cook until basil is slightly wilted.

Author's Comments

Substitute tofu to make this a vegetarian dish.
