Spicy Butternut Soup

4 to 6 servings



1 lg. butternut
2 onions
1 leek
Chicken stock
1 clove garlic
2 tsp. sage
1 chili
Salt and pepper, to taste
Nutmeg, to taste
Cinnamon, to taste


Saute onions, leeks and garlic in olive oil. Add butternut and leave on low heat to sweat. When butternut is soft add chopped chili and sage. Add stock. Bring to boil and simmer on low heat. Blend. Add nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper to taste.

Cream can be added.

This soup sounds wonderful. It would help to know how much chicken stock and what kind of chili's though.
