This recipe is tasty and easy to make. Using the crockpot eliminates a lot of the maintenance needed to monitor greens on the stove top. I really just have two points about my preferences:
1. I don't care for the mixing of collards and turnips. When I do mix (which really isn't necessary), I mix collards and kale OR turnips and mustards...and never the twain shall meet. If you mix collards and kale, there is no need for sugar...which brings me to my second point.
2. I DO NOT like sugar in my greens at all so I did not use the brown sugar. That being said, some people find turnips and/or mustards too bitter so the brownsugar would probably be good for them. Also yellow onions are sweeter than white so keep that in mind too when selecting your onion.

Wash greens and cut out thick stems. Stack greens in a pile, then roll up like a cigar, and then slice. Place sliced greens into crockpot with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours or until greens are tender.

You can vary the greens in this- mustard greens or kale are good choices as well.
