Idaho potatoes, peeled and diced in 1-1/2 inch cubes
1 pkg.
baby carrots
1
sm. onion, finely diced
Water
Instructions
Fill a large kettle with your three cans of beef broth and three cans of water. Bring to a boil. (You may use more beef broth for more flavor.)
Cut your beef into 1-inch cubes. Prepare a small bowl of flour, salt and pepper. Mix these ingredients with a fork. Toss your beef cubes in the flour until fully coated.
Melt butter in a frying pan on low heat. Place beef cubes in the pan and simmer until browned. Make sure you turn them on all sides. Meanwhile, add carrots, onion and potatoes to the boiling broth. Once your meat is browned and juicy, add the pieces into the pot.
Simmer stew for about 2 hours. If you like your veggies crunchier, only cook for 1-1/2 hours. Stir occasionally, and add a pinch of salt if your first taste test is a little bland. Serve in stew bowls with warmed bread for dipping. Enjoy!!!

An easy stew that is idiot proof. One of the first recipes I ever learned. Moist and yummy!<br />

You can buy "stew beef" at the supermaket pre-cut. If you would like, you can leave your onion in larger pieces for eating, but I like to use them soley for flavor.
