Russian Chicken

4 to 8 servings



4 to 8 chicken breasts
1 pkg. Dry onion soup mix
8 oz. Russian salad dressing
8 oz. Apricot preserves


Place chicken parts as needed in glass baking dish. Combine dressing, preserves, and dry onion soup mix, and spoon over chicken. Bake at 350°F for 1-1/2 hours.

Wonderful sauce for any style chicken< What I did was change the way the chicken breast was prepared and it made the dishe a lot more interesting. I dredge the chicken in flour, the in egg and pan fry the breast 2 minutes on each side then place in a baking dish and spoon the sauce over and bake it was wonderful

My mama used to make this so it's comfort food for me. I think they called it "Sweet & Sour Chicken" back in the early 1970s.
My best friend makes sure she has plenty of the sauce and uses it as a gravy on mashed potatoes.
