Rum Manhattan to the Rescue
|Manhattans are usually made with whiskey or bourbon, but rum does the job well too.|
|2-1/2 oz. ||dark rum, preferably the good stuff|
|1 part (3/4 oz.) ||sweet vermouth|
|2 dashes ||bitters|
|Orange zest peel and Maraschino cherries for garnish|

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum, vermouth and bitters. Put lid on shaker, and shake it like you mean it.
Using a cocktail strainer, strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with an orange zest twist and cherries.
