Rainbow Grill Bran Muffins



2 to 3 dozen



1 cup Crisco
2 cups boiling water
4 eggs
2-1/2 to 3 cup sugar
3 tsp. salt
5 cups white flour
1 box Bran Buds
1-2/3 tbsp. soda
1 qt. buttermilk


Melt Crisco in water and bring to boil, then let cool. In 3 qt. bowl mix the eggs, sugar and salt until light and fluffy. When the shortening mixture is cool, add to the egg mixture. Blend in flour slowly. Add Bran Buds slowly, by hand. Mix soda and buttermilk. Wait until the milk has risen, then pour into the flour mixture. Mix slowly by hand. Cover
tightly and store in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
