Place all ingredients in order in your bread maker. Run bread maker through dough only cycle.
After the machine makes the dough, remove it from machine and cut in half. Preheat oven to 400°F. Place heat proof bowl filled almost to the top with water in oven. Shape dough into two baguette shaped loaves. Place loaves on a parchment paper lined cooking sheet, or a loaf pan. Cover loaves with lightly oiled cellophane wrap. Let loaves rise for 30 minutes while oven heats.
Score top of loaves with very sharp knife or Lame. Place loaves in oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
For a very crispy and chewy crust spray loaves with water just before putting in oven and then twice again at 5 minute intervals from beginning of baking time.
For best results in your baking put your pizza stone in the oven before preheating. This heavy stone will help regulate the heat in the oven and bake the loaves at a more even temperature.

This is also a very good basic french bread recipe. Just leave out all the ingredients from the garlic powder on down. You can also take the basic recipe and add anything that sounds good to you. Try some, and let us know how it turns out.
