I've used this recipe for years. I actually have a Nestle Toll House recipe booklet that I bought at a supermarket checkout probably 20 years ago or better. I looked it up because I didn't feel like digging out the booklet (yup! I still have it!). I see people have been having some problems with the recipe. I've never had a problem with this recipe, but I've been baking a long time. Things this recipe doesn't mention are: 1. Use parchment paper. 2. Don't flatten them out when you put them on the pan. These are drop cookies. Either place them in balls or piles, not discs. If you flatten them you'll end up with flat cookies. 3: Bake cookies on the top racks of your oven. It's a rule. No one ever mentions it, but it is. 4:Do not cool soft baked cookies directly on the rack. Slide the parchment paper with the cookies on them on to the cooling rack.
