Mom's Easy Bean Bake

1 lb. dry great northern beans
1 cup salt
1 lb. sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. molasses
3 sm. onions, chopped


Place beans and salt in a saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 1 hour. Drain, reserving liquid. Combine beans, 1 cup liquid and the remaining ingredients in a greased 2-1/2 qt. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1-1/4 hours or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally (add additional reserved liquid if needed).
