Ingredients
2/3 cup | milk | 1 | egg, beaten | 1/2 cup | soft bread crumbs | 1-1/2 lb. | ground chuck or | | turkey | 1/4 cup | tomato juice | 1/4 cup | chopped green pepper | 1/2 cup | chopped onion | 2 tsp. | salt |
Topping
3 tbsp. | brown sugar | 1/4 cup | ketchup | 1/4 tsp. | nutmeg | 1 tsp. | mustard | 4 slices | bacon slices to lay on top |

Instructions
Blend together all the meatloaf ingredients until smooth. Shape into a loaf and place in a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Mix together topping ingredients, except for the bacon. Pour over meatloaf. Lay bacon on top of meatloaf. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

I am not a huge meatloaf fan. However, when my grandmother passed away, I was given her cookbook. This recipe comes from a newspaper dated 1982. I tried this meatloaf recipe and much to my delight and my family's this is exceptional!
