Mark and Lily's Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
4-1/2 cup | all-purpose flour | 2 tsp. | baking soda | 1 tsp. | salt | 1 lb. | butter | 2/3 lb. | Trader Joe's dark chocolate | 1/3 cup | cocoa powder; optional | 2 tsp. | vanilla extract | 4 | eggs | 1 pkg. | semisweet chocolate chips |

Instructions
Mix first 3 ingredients together. Melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Beat in vanilla. Cool a bit. Beat in eggs. Add wet to dry ingredients. Mix promptly. Stir in chips. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet 2-inches apart. Bake for 9-10 minutes in oven preheated to 375°F.
