Maraschino Cherry Bars

Crust

1/2 cup butter or
margarine
1 cup flour
2 tsp. powdered sugar

Filling

1 bottle cut and drained maraschino cherries
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup coconut flakes
dash of salt

Instructions

Mix butter, flour, and sugar until smooth and fill into bottom of a 9x9 inch pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until light brown. Mix filling as desired and slowly pour over crust mix so as not to upset the bottom layer. Bake approx. 25 minutes. Let cool, cut as desired, serve, and enjoy!

Try adding chocolate, white chocolate, or caramel chips for an extra zip.
