Jessie's Broccoli Cheese Soup

Ingredients
3/4 tsp. | liquid smoke | 1/4 lb. | butter or | | margarine | 3/4 cup | flour | 1 pint | half and half | 1/2 tsp. | salt | 1/2 tsp. | pepper | 2 bunches | broccoli tops | 2-1/2 qt. | boiling water | 1 | lg. onion, minced | 12 oz. | Cheeze Whiz | 6 | carrots, thinly sliced | 8 | chicken bullion cubes |

Another excellent cheese soup not quite as good as the beer cheese soup but it is still very tasty.

Instructions
Sauté onions and carrots in butter or margarine in a fry pan until tender. Add flour to make a roux. Add the bullion cubes to the boiling water. Add the roux to the water. Use a wire wisk stirring until smooth. Add the Cheeze Whiz, half and half, liquid smoke, salt and pepper. Simmer on low, stirring often for about 20 minutes. Add broccoli tops and cook until tender, about another 25 minutes.

This soup is very good and even tastes better the second day after it thickens!
