2 servings

1 paper lunch sack
1/4 cup of popcorn
finely ground salt
olive, canola, or
Seasoning ideas
coriander and cumin
Parmesan and truffle oil
sun dried tomato oil and basil

Pour the popcorn into the bag and fold the top over a few times to shut. You can tape it closed, but usually just folding is sufficient. Microwave for about 2 minutes. When it's all popped, empty into a bowl and get to seasoning. Melted butter of course is classic, but you can mist olive over the top also. Fat will help the spices stick but is totally optional.

Author's Comments

There are a couple of serious reasons not to eat commercially packed microwave popcorn. PFOA is a chemical related to Teflon that is used in the bags to keep the grease from leaking through. The butter flavor chemical has been linked to lung disease. More gory details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popcorn_bag
