Grilled Asparagus with Garlic and Parmesan

Ingredients
1 bunch | fresh asparagus, trimmed | 2 tbsp. | olive oil | 2 tsp. | garlic powder | 1 tsp. | kosher salt | 1/2 tsp. | freshly ground pepper | 3 to 4 tbsp. | freshly grated parmesan cheese |

Instructions
You may grill these over an oiled mesh grate, or alternatively, you
may skewer them with one skewer across the top and one across the
bottom, going over many asparagus spears, as if you were making a
fence (this will keep them from rolling off the grate and into the
coals).
Toss asparagus with oil, then with garlic, salt and pepper, and skewer
if needed. Grill for about 10 minutes total, turning once or until done to your liking (thickness may vary the time). Once turned, sprinkle with parmesan to melt.
Author's Comments
These have a nice garlicky, smoky flavor and go perfectly with other
grilled foods. I use garlic powder on these instead of fresh only
because I think it adheres better to the spears for fuller flavor. If
you prefer fresh garlic, try infusing it with the olive oil to
increase the punch.
