1 can (1-1/4 lb.) crushed pineapple
1-1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Topping Sauce

1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can (5 oz.) evaporated milk

Instructions

Mix together pineapple, sugar, baking soda, salt, flour, baking powder and eggs, and pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Top with brown sugar and chopped nuts. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes. Meanwhile, place topping sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and pour over cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
