Georgia Greens with Raw Vegetable Relish

Ingredients
3 lbs. | turnip greens | 1/4 lb. | salt pork | 3 cups | boiling water | 1 | hot pepper pod |
Raw Vegetable Relish
2 | lg. tomatoes | 1 | lg. cucumber, peeled | 1 | lg. green bell pepper | 1/2 cup | sliced celery | 1 | md. onion, minced | 1 tbsp. | salad oil | 1 tbsp. | vinegar | 1 dash | salt, to taste | 1 dash | pepper, to taste |

Instructions
Greens:
Snip turnip leaves from stems; discard stems. Wash leaves thoroughly. Drain. Brown salt pork on all sides in heavy kettle; add water and boil, covered, for 10 minutes. Add greens and pepper pod. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Drain; reserve pot liquor to serve in cups with main dish at dinner. Cut greens with scissors; slice pork and mix, adding salt, if necessary. Serve with raw vegetable relish.
Relish:
Dice tomatoes, cucumber and bell pepper. Add remaining ingredients. Serve with turnip greens.
