French Cherry Pie

1-1/4 cup fine vanilla wafer crumbs
1-1/3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 pkg. French vanilla instant pudding mix
1 can (1-1/3 lb.) cherry pie filling


Combine first 3 ingredients in bowl; mix well. Press over bottom and sides of 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Cool. Blend cold milk, sour cream and flavoring in mixer bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat at low speed for 1 minute. Pour into prepared pie shell. Chill for 2 hours. Spoon pie filling around edge.
