Easy Layered Casserole

4 to 6 servings



4 potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 can (1-1/8 lb.) whole kernel corn
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. green pepper, chopped
4 carrots, peeled, sliced
1-1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese


Layer potatoes evenly in oiled dish. Sprinkle on salt and pepper. Spread corn over potatoes. Spread green pepper, onion and carrots. Crumble beef over top. Sprinkle with marjoram and additional pepper. Top with tomato sauce, spreading evenly. Bake covered at 350°F for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the cheese. Bake 10-15 minutes, or longer as needed.

Good served with crisp green salad, buttermilk biscuits or hot baked bread.
