This is a great recipe. I like lemon zest so I added some to this just for a kick. The moistness in this bread is perfect. I rated it a 5.

Sorry to bother you but I happened on this site and was reading Devin's Delight Banana Bread recipe and other people's comments.I would like to try it but I don't know what is "1 stick margerine" or it's equivalent.I can work with metric or imperial measurements but this has me beat.I've never heard of it.Can you help? Thanks

1 stick margarine means just that. Its the whole stick of margarine right out of the package. The margarine usually comes 4 to a box, so you would use 1 whole stick. hopes this help you.

Thanks Peggy Daily for your help.We don't get the margerine here in Malta as you described but I can manage with your information.

1 stick of butter is 4 oz. Hope this helps!

I only have 3 ripe bananas, how do you think that this will effect the recipe?

This bread has good taste and texture, great with whipped cream.

Excellent, with or without the nuts. I melted the margarine which made for easier mixing.

This is the best banana bread ever! I never thought I'd taste one better than my mother's, but this one has it beat hands down.

Everytime I have had leftover bananas to use up this past year or so I have used this recipe. It has been one of the most reliable ones I have found. My family and friends love it. Me Too! THX :)

I love this banana bread! I've been making it for 12 years when I found it online whilst trying to make banana bread on a sailboat in the South Pacific. Thank you, Ryan! I use butter instead of margarine and add a healthy dose of chocolate chips.

Instructions

Author's Comments
There is a little story behind the name of this bread... When I was working on the recipe, a friend of mine was pregnant. I brought her a loaf of banana bread every week for about 6-7 months until the baby was born. I was going to try like heck to help make this a healthy baby!
Devin was born on February 7th, 1998 a very healthy 9 lbs. 10 ounces! I was there at the hospital and got to see Christine hold him for the first time. What a wonderful experience...
Today Devin is celebrating his first birthday. It is with gratitude that I post this recipe; grateful am I to have shared in his birthing experience and grateful to see him today walking and playing.
Happy Birthday Devin! Glad you liked the bread! :) Ryan
