1 cup | firmly packed brown sugar | 1/4 cup | molasses | 3/4 cup | shortening | 1 tsp. | baking soda | 1 | egg | 2-3/4 cup | flour | 1-1/2 tsp. | cinnamon | 1 tsp. | ginger | | Dark chocolate kisses candy | | Cinnamon-sugar mixture |

Instructions
Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, combine brown sugar, shortening, and molasses; beat at medium speed until smooth. Add egg. Beat well. Add flour, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon; beat until well mixed. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mix, place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 9 minutes, immediately press one candy into center of each cookie. Place in refrigerator or other cool place until cookie is cool and chocolate is set.
