Crostini Giardino -- Toasted Bread and Fresh Vegetables

Ingredients
1 loaf | Italian bread, sliced | 1 | lg. tomato, chopped finely | 1 | md. onion, chopped finely | 2 tbsp. | arugula, chopped fine | 1 tsp. | fresh basil, chopped fine | | Olive oil | | Salt and pepper to taste |

Instructions
Toast the thick sliced Italian bread in a broiler, making sure you toast both sides.
Chop all the ingredients, except the olive oil fine, and mix together well. Add a touch or so of olive oil to the mixture after draining off some of the liquid of the vegetables.
Salt and pepper to taste. Spread a tablespoon or so on each slice of toasted bread. Serve while toast is still warm and crisp.
