Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole

Ingredients

1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of celery soup
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 sm. onion, diced
1 can tuna (with juice)
1-1/2 cup sour cream
1 pkg. (16 oz.) noodles (your choice)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 pkg. Lay's Potato Chips

Instructions

Cook noodles according to package directions. Pre-heat oven to 350°F. In a bowl mix soups, 1 cup cheddar cheese, onion, tuna with the juice, sour cream, salt and pepper. When noodles are done add to soup mixture. Stir in well. Place mixture in a baking casserole dish. Crush potato chips and layer on top of mixture. Add remaing cheddar cheese on top of potato chips. Bake for 30-45 minutes.

Yummy, yes, but have your ever checked the sodium content of canned soup and tuna??? And then add in the sodium from the potato chips and your family has a week's worth of the RDA on sodium!!!

For a healthier alternative to this recipe, I used whole wheat pasta, low-fat sour cream, low fat cheese, and low-sodium soups. Also, for the Lay potatoe chips, I used the lightly salted brand. My kids loved it, and had seconds. Awesome recipe! Tastes great!!
