Cool as a Cucumber Pasta Salad

Ingredients
2 cups | thinly sliced cucumbers (about 1 medium) | 1/2 cup | chopped onions | 8 oz. | pasta (I like bowties; you can use mostaccioli, etc.) |
Dressing
1/3 cup | sugar | 1/2 cup | vegetable oil | 1/2 cup | white vinegar | 3/4 tsp. | salt | 3/4 tsp. | black pepper | 1-1/2 tsp. | garlic salt |

Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse. Set aside to cool a bit. Add cucumbers and onions. Whisk together the sugar, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Pour over pasta-vegetable mix and combine thoroughly. Tastes best if it chills together for a couple of hours before serving.

I'm not a big fan of pasta salad, but even I like this one. I tweaked it to my taste from a recipe in my treasured "Thymes and Seasons" cookbook by the Illinois Valley Herb Guild.
