Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Grease a 13x9-inch (3.5 Litre) baking dish.
In a large bowl, thoroughly combine flour and sugar. Cut in the margarine using a pastry blender until mixture is crumbling. Add egg, and almond extract, and mix until thoroughly combined. Set aside 1 cup of mixture for topping.
Press remaining mixture into prepared baking dish. Evenly spread the raspberry jam over the dough. Combine reserved mixture, chocolate chips, and almonds. Evenly spoon over the raspberry jam, and press down lightly with the back of the spoon. Bake for 40 minutes.
