Yield

12 to 15 servings

Ingredients

Ingredients

4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
8 tbsp. unsalted butter, room temperature
1-1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tbsp. vanilla extract
3 tsp. eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Topping

2 tbsp. walnuts, chopped (optional)
1-1/2 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan with butter or vegetable oil. Melt chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler placed over simmering water. Cool mixture for 5 minutes. Place sugar in a medium-size mixing bowl and pour in chocolate mixture. Using an electric mixer, on medium speed, mix until blended, about 25 seconds. Scrape bowl with a spatula. Add the vanilla. With the mixer on medium-low speed, add the eggs one at a time, blending after each addition until the yolk is broken and dispersed, about 10 seconds. Scrape the bowl after the last egg and blend until velvety, about 15 seconds more. Add the flour on low speed and mix for about 20 seconds; finish the mixing by hand, being certain to mix in any flour at the bottom of the bowl. Add in 1/2 cup of nuts. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and sprinkle remaining nuts if using over the top. Bake brownies on the center oven rack until a thin crust forms on top and a tester inserted in center comes out with a moist crumb, about 35 minutes. (The center of the brownies should never quite rise to the height of the edges.) Remove pan from oven and place it on a rack to cool for 1 hour. Wait until next day. DO NOT CUT BROWNIES YET!!

Melt 1-1/2 ounces chocolate in the top of a double boiler placed over simmering water. Pour the evaporated milk into an electric blender and add the sugar and melted chocolate. Blend on medium-low speed until it thickens, about 50 seconds. (If necessary, use mixing bowl and electric mixer). Using a frosting spatula, spread frosting evenly over the surface of brownies. Allow to sit 1 hour before cutting.

I made these for a small gathering with a few couple friends. The best thing about this recipe is the name. Everybody got a kick out of that alone. However, it's going to take a little more than a brownie to make me moan in public! But, seriously... these were delicious. I don't think the day wait was worth the time, because when I was done baking them, I wanted to devour them. Everybody else seemed to think they were worth the wait though (at least that's what they told me)... so, if you make it, enjoy! And, let me know if you moan!!
