3 lbs. whole chicken
2 carrots, sliced
2 onions, sliced
2 celery stalks with leaves, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tsp. basil
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth or
wine

Instructions

Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crockpot. Add whole chicken. Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top. Cover and cook until done: 8 to 10 hours on low, 3 to 4 hours on high using one cup water. Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
