Butterscotch Brownies

1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butterscotch chips


Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch pan. Combine sugar, oil, egg and vanilla and beat well with a spoon or electric mixer on low speed. Sift dry ingredients together into mixture and blend well. Blend in nuts and butterscotch chips. Spread in pan and bake 25 minutes or until top springs back. Cut into squares while warm.
