Buttermilk Whisky Pie

1/2 cup butter
1-1/4 cup sugar
2 T. flour
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 T. whiskey
1 tsp. nutmeg
zest of half a lemon
1 pastry crust

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Prepare single pastry crust and put in 9" pie plate.

Cream together softened butter and sugar. Mix in remaining ingredients. Pour into crust and bake 45 minutes. I check them with an instant read thermometer to make sure they're 160 degrees in the middle.

Wait until completely cool to slice. Best served room temperature with some whipped cream spiked with a dash of bourbon.
