Breakfast Casserole

6 to 8 servings



6 slices bread, cubed
1 lb. hot sausage, cooked and drained
1 cup sharp cheddar, grated
2 cups milk
6 eggs, slightly beaten
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp. dry mustard


Cover bottom of large casserole dish with bread. Layer sausage, then cheese. Combine eggs, milk and spices together. Pour over cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

Prepared the night before and baked about an hour before serving time.
With some fruit and a Danish or Christmas goodie, a pot of coffee or tea
It's time for breakfast.
