4 cups | dry bread cubes | 1 | onion, chopped | 1 clove | garlic, minced | 1/4 tsp. | black pepper | 1/4 tsp. | dried marjoram (or oregano) | 1 cup | celery, chopped | 2 tbsp. | parsley leaves or | 2 tsp. | dry parsely | 3/4 tsp. | ground sage | 1/2 tsp. | dried thyme | 1/8 tsp. | basil (optional) | 1 cup | hot water or | | turkey broth |

Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl; toss to mix well. Stuff into a 10-pound turkey or 4 cornish hens.
Author's Comments
May be covered and baked 30 minutes in casserole at 350-375°F to avoid added fat. Cook the turkey with a chunk of raw onion in the cavity. Use only 1/2 cup liquid if you prefer a dry dressing.
