Black Jack Barbecue Sauce With Short Ribs

Ingredients
1 cup | strong black coffee | 1 cup | Worcestershire sauce | 1 cup | ketchup | 1/2 cup | cider vinegar | 1/2 cup | brown sugar | 3 tbsp. | chili powder | 2 tsp. | salt | 2 cups | chopped onion | 6 cloves | garlic, minced | 5 lbs. | beef short ribs or | | pork ribs |

Instructions
In a large saucepan, combine coffee, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, chili powder, salt, onion, and garlic. Simmer for 25 minutes. Transfer mixture to a blender or food processor and puree. You will have about 5 cups of sauce.
Place ribs in a large flat pan. Pour 3 cups of the sauce over the ribs, turning ribs to coat with sauce. Pierce meat with a large fork. Marinate for 8 hours, turning once.
Remove ribs from marinade and brush off excess liquid. Bake ribs in a 350°F oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Heat remaining 2 cups of sauce and serve on the side.
Marinade can be stored in the refrigerator. Serves 6.
