Apricot Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients
4 | Pork rib or | | loin chops, 1/2-inch thick | 1 tsp. | salt | 1 tbsp. | oil or | | shortening | 1 can (1 lb.) | apricot halves, drained, reserving liquid | 1-1/2 cup | reserved apricot liquid plus water to equal | 2 tbsp. | cornstarch | 2 tsp. | lemon juice | 2 tbsp. | slivered almonds |

Instructions
Sprinkle chops with salt. Brown in oil on both sides in frying pan. Add 1/2 c of the apricot liquid. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Combine cornstarch and remaining 1 c apricot liquid. Add to chops. Continue simmering, stirring frequently, until liquid thickens. Add apricots and almonds. Cover and continue simmering for 10 minutes.
