1 stick | butter or | | margarine | 3/4 cup | sugar divided | 1 tsp. | vanilla | 1 cup | flour | 1 pkg. (8 oz.) | cream cheese | 1 | egg | 4 | thinly sliced apples | 1/2 tsp. | cinnamon | 1/2 cup | powdered sugar | 2 tbsp. | milk | 2 tbsp. | toasted slivered almonds |

Instructions
Cream together butter, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Add flour and when it is well blended, press the mixture into the bottom and up sides of a 9" springform pan.
Beat together the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, the egg and 1/2 tsp vanilla until smooth. Pour into prepared crust. Toss the apples lightly with 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Layer evenly over cream cheese batter.
Bake at 450°F for 10 min then reduce oven temp to 400°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until apples test done.
Cool the pan, then remove the sides of pan and place on a serving plate.
Combine the powdered sugar and milk and drizzle over the torte and garnish with almonds.
