Ingredients
1 lb. | ground beef | 1/4 cup | dry bread crumbs | 2 tbsp. | minced onion | 2 tbsp. | water | 1 | egg | 3/4 tsp. | Tabasco sauce, divided | 1/2 cup | coarsely chopped green bell pepper | 2 tbsp. | olive oil | 1/2 cup | chopped onion | 1/2 tsp. | chopped garlic | 4 cups | beef broth | 1 can (1 lb.) | tomatoes, undrained | 1/4 tsp. | saffron, crumbled |

Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine beef, crumbs, minced onion, water, egg, and 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce. Mix and chill well (at least 1 hour). Shape into 1-inch meat balls.
In a large sauce pan, heat oil. Saute green pepper, chopped onion and garlic for 3 minutes. Stir in broth, tomatoes, saffron and remaining Tabasco sauce. Simmer 30 minutes. Add meatballs and simmer an additional 20 minutes.
