Mix tomatoes with the sugar and pour into a one-quart loaf glass dish. Break bread into quarters and put into the tomatoes. Slice butter thinly and dot the top of the bread/tomatoes. Sprinkle with a little ground cinnamon. Place in pre-heated 325°F oven for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until tomatoes are the consistency of a thick pudding. Push bread down frequently with a spoon. Serve with meat or poultry.
