McIntosh apple

A semi-crisp tart-sweet variety of apple with bright red skin that is often carries a light green tint. Named after its finder, the Canadian John McIntosh, in the late 1700s, the McIntosh apple is a multi-purpose apple but isn't the best candidate for baked goods.
