1 pkg. dry yeast
1 cup warm water (add more for desired consistency)
1/2 lb. honey
2/3 stick melted butter
3 cups white flour
3 cups wheat flour

Combine yeast and water. Let dissolve for 5 minutes. Warm honey and mix with butter. Add to water and yeast. Add flour, mix and knead. Let stand to rise for 1-1/2 hours or until doubled. Knead and form into two loaves. Put loaves in two greased bread pans. Bake at 350°F degrees for 50 minutes or until done.

User Reviews:

We followed this recipe and it called for way too much flour--6 cups. I now see that other recipes call for much less flour for the same amount of yeast and water. We ended up adding a lot of extra water and then the bread didn't rise. We baked two bricks. The recipe will probably work fine if you cut the amount of flour by two cups or double the amount of water and yeast.
