Ingredients:

2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 shortening
1/2 cup apple butter
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 lg. egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp. baking soda added to
1 tbsp. warm water

Chocolate Drizzle:
1 tbsp. butter
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 9x13-inch pan. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl cream shortening, apple-butter, and brown sugar. Beat in egg. Dissolve the baking soda in the warm water and add to creamed mixture, beating until smooth. Gradually blend in dry ingredients. Add Rolled Oats and Chocolate Chips.

Spread mixture evenly in greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until lightly colored. Set pan on rack to cool. Top with Chocolate Drizzle if desired.

Chocolate Drizzle:
Melt Chocolate Chips with shortening in microwave for 50 seconds. Stir. If not completely melted continue melting 10 second intervals, stirringeach time. Drizzle over cooled bars.
