Prep. Time:

Total Time:

Ingredients:

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 can (16 oz.) refried beans
1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies, drained
1 lb. ground round, cooked, drained and finely crumbled
1 cup yellow onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, cut in strips
1-1/2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese or Jalapeno Jack cheese or combination, shredded

Directions:

Allow bread to rise according to package directions. Heat oven to 400°F. Brush olive oil lightly on bottom and sides of a rectangular baking dish. Punch down dough and pat into prepared pan. Spread refried beans evenly over dough surface. Layer remaining ingredients over beans. (Can be prepared up to 8 hours in advance up to this point, cover and chill. Add 15 minutes to baking time.) Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Serve immediately.

Comments from Nancy Otto :

If you really like hot and spicy food, substitute jalapenos for green chilies.
