2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 sm. onion, studded with
3 whole cloves
1 sm. bay leaf

Directions:

Melt butter in pan and add flour. Cook flour until slightly brown. Slowly stir in milk. Add onion and bay leaf; stirring constantly, cook until sauce begins to thicken. Place sauce in oven at 350°F and bake for 20 minutes. Strain sauce and correct seasoning.
