1 (3 to 4 lb.) chicken, cut up
1 can diet orange soda
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:

Mix soda, soy sauce and spices in a large bowl. Place chicken in a 9x13 pan in one layer. Pour soda/soy mixture over chicken. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 1 to 1-1/4 hours, turning chicken 1/2 after 35 minutes.

Do not use regular Orange Soda -- the sugar in it will burn and char.
