Ingredients:

1 lb. medium/firm tofu
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup sesame seeds
2 tbsp. canola oil
3 green onions thinly sliced
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. dry sherry
3/4 tsp. grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, crushed

Directions:

Place tofu in a colander and let drain for 10 minutes. Prepare teriyaki sauce by combining soy sauce, sugar, dry sherry, grated ginger, and crushed garlic cloves. Cut the tofu into domino shape/size pieces and marinate in teriyaki sauce for 15 minutes, turning to coat well. Combine flour and sesame seeds; lift tofu from marinade, reserve marinade, drain tofu briefly, then dip in flour mixture to coat all sides. Heat one tablespoon oil in a frying pan over medium heat; add half the tofu and cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes on each side. Remove from pan and keep warm. Add the remaining tablespoon oil to pan, cook the remaining tofu. Serve warm sprinkled with green onion and pass reserved teriyaki sauce for dipping.
