Total Time:

Ingredients:

1 lb. fresh buffalo mozzarella, cut in 4 equal slices (about 3x4 each)
8 slices American-style sandwich bread
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. virgin olive oil, divided
2 tbsp. sweet butter, divided

Directions:

Divide the 4 pieces of mozzarella on 4 pieces of bread. Cover with 4 remaining pieces of bread to form sandwiches and set aside. Whisk the eggs in a shallow wide bowl and add the milk, thyme leaves and salt and mix until well blended. Dip the sandwiches into egg mixture one by one to coat and set aside. In a 12- to 14-inch non-stick sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil until smoking. Add 1 tablespoon of the butter and cook until sizzling subsides. Place 2 sandwiches in pan and cook until golden brown on first side. Flip over and repeat on other side. Remove and set first 2 aside. Repeat process with remaining oil, butter and sandwiches. Serve immediately.

User Reviews:

Beverly, you're looking for a salad called Caprese Salad.

I am looking for a salad dish that had buffalo mozzarella/basi/tomatoes/olive oil/and herbs. I do not know what it was called but it was great. I am looking for the ingredients or spices that go into making this salad, that is all that was on the dish i believe. Do you know of this salad? can you give me the receipe?
