Ingredients:

1 lb. beef cubed steaks, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes
1 can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed beef consumme
1 cup water
1/2 cup regular barley
1/4 cup frozen chopped onion
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried marjoram leaves
1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen baby lima beans, broken apart
1 pkg. (9 oz.) frozen Italian or French style green
Beans, broken apart
1 can (15 oz.) butter beans, drained
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese

Directions:

Brown cubed steak pieces in butter in Dutch oven over medium hat. Stir in tomatoes, with their liquid, consumme, water, barley, onion, salt, marjoram and thyme. heat to boiling, reduce heat. cover and simmer 50 min. Stir in lima beans and green beans. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 min. Stir in butter beans. Cover and simmer 10 min. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.
